Perry "Duck" Holmes

ROCHELLE, GA-

Perry “Duck” Holmes, 65, left us on the night of January 22, 2024 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia. His fight has ended, and our hope is that his spirit has found peace, comfort, and rejoicing with loved ones in Heaven.

Perry “Duck” Holmes was born on May 24, 1958 in Rochelle, Georgia to the late Verlin Cheese and Issac Holmes both of Rochelle, Georgia.

Perry, grew up to be a fun, loving, gentle man and had a great personality. He was affectionately known by most as “DUCK.” His greatest passion was farming and he had a deep love for his family.

He believed in treating others how you would want to be treated. “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” Luke 6:31

He would do the things other people would not do and do it with a sense of joy and determination, because he loved making people happy. What he gained, helped benefit others.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

His smile and warm embrace will be missed, but never forgotten. Because love is stronger than death, his memories will last forever in the hearts of his children, Katherine Jones of Cordele, GA and Perry Holmes, Jr. of Pineview, GA; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; four sisters, Rose Mary (Van) Dennard and Linda Holmes both of Rochelle, GA, Babara McAdoo, Francine Homes both of Fort Pierce, FL; two brothers, Willie James (Faye) Holmes of Rochelle, GA, Travis (Victoria) Cheese of Hawkinsville, GA; a special bonus brother, Ronnie (Mary) Cheese of Pitts, GA; close cousin, Joann Wilxox of Rochelle, GA; He also leaves an innumerable number of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and acquaintances.

Public Vistation will be held on Friday, Janaury 26, 2024 at the funeral home from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Perry "Duck" Holmes will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the hour of 1:00 P.M. at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 406 Dykes Avenue, Rochelle, GA 31079 with Reverend Travis Johnson, Eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
