ROCHELLE, GA-
The journey of life for Donna “Ree” Edwards began on June 27,1964 in Fitzgerald, GA to the parentage of Mrs. Queenie M. Ferguson and Mr. Willie B. Thomas Sr. Donna peacefully slept into the Lord's embrace on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at her home in Rochelle, GA.
Donna accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church in Rochelle, GA. She was educated in the Wilcox County school systems and was a proud 1982 graduate of Wilcox County High School. Throughout her adulthood, Donna had various jobs which included: Ithaca Shirt Factory, Shaw Industries, Central Pack, Crossview Care Center, and River Willows Nursing Center.
To know Donna was to love her. She was a very humble and quiet, fun, loving, gentle, and kind-spirited lady with a heart of gold. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends. If there was a keno or card game going on, Ree was definitely somewhere in the mix.
Giving birth to her son was one of her greatest accomplishments. The love that she had for her “Frawg Tail” was unconditional, unwavering, and unmeasurable. She was a proud mom that turned into an even prouder grandmother and great-grandmother.
While Donna was preceded in death by her stepfather, Marsh Ferguson, her love, smile, and laughter will forever live in the hearts of her parents, Queenie Ferguson of Decatur GA, and Willie (Hui Sun) Thomas of Killeen, TX.; Son, Alphonso Larkin, Jr. of Rochelle, GA; (3) grandsons, Azavion Deans, Ke’Morion Larkin, and Kassidy Deans of Rochelle, GA; (4) great-grandchildren, Blessyn Norris, Nasir Norris, Everleigh Norris, and Kyrie Deans, of Rochelle, GA; (2) sisters, Susie Edwards of Atlanta, GA and Marshia Ferguson of Decatur, GA: (3) brothers, Michael Edwards of Decatur, GA, David (Vanessa) Thomas of McKinney, TX and Oliver (Cathy) Thomas, Sr. of Colorado Springs, CO; (7) aunts, Verrease (Eddie) Miller of Atlanta, GA, Verlyn Tisdol of Abbeville, GA, Atha Lee Tisdol of Abbeville, GA, Flora Thomas of Atlanta, GA, Barbara Ann Thomas of Fl, Velma Griffin of Cordele, GA and Willie Mae Rodgers of Decatur, GA; (9) uncles, Rosbie Tisdol Jr. of Rochelle, GA, Jessie Tisdol of Fitzgerald, GA, Clarence Thomas of Rochelle, GA, N.C. Coney of Pitts, GA, Artis Eady of Ocilla, GA, Wilbur Thomas of Atlanta, GA, Ronnie Thomas of Rochelle, GA, Patrick Thomas of Atlanta, GA and Sherman Thomas of Ellenwood, GA.; and a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
